  1. TIL this about <video> on iOS: As of iOS version 14.4—even if using <track default>—iOS will not show captions by default unless enabled in Settings. Opt-in at Settings -> Accessibility -> Subtitles & Captioning -> and make sure the Closed Captions + SDH option is selected.
