@supremebeing09 That’s the standard approach for FOUT, yeah. I try to think of web fonts as a race between the font “minimum viable product” and my first render. The quicker you can get the font to load the better (subset, preload, woff2 compression).

@supremebeing09 Maybe read this old blog post too about staged loading zachleat.com/web/critical-webfonts/ (old in that it uses Font Face Observer, but I’d use CSS Font Loading API now—the rest of the content should be fine)
